Ragadványnevek

Mizser Lajos 1972 óta kitűnő dolgozatokban dolgozta fel sok dologgal a cserépi ragadványneveket. 402-t talált. Többsége durván sértő ragadványnév, ezért simán csak csúfolódóneveknek nevezik Cserépben. A Herman Ottó Múzeum 2003-as évkönyvéből jegyzeteltem ki a releváns tartalmakat. Az elején leírom, hogy honnan jött, eredt a név, aztán a ragadvány és az igazi név, és még magyarázat is van néhol.

  • A valódi név eltorzítása: Grünbarom (Grünbaum)
  • Származási hely, a falu valamelyik részéről: Kóbi (Lukács): az egyik zsidó boltos fiát hívták így (egyébként a Jakab név jiddis becézője), és az üzlet mellett lakó család róla kapta a ragadványnevet
  • Egyéni tulajdonság, külső megjelenés, testi hiba: Bajuszkirály (Schwarcz Jakab); Sánta (Jakab), Sánta gunár (egy zsidó boltos­nak volt a ragadványneve, az eredeti névre senki sem emlékszik); Kompri (Jakab): nagy orrú (kompri = burgonya); Bánatos (Groszmann József);
  • Uralkodó jellemvonás: Zsidó (Jakab): ravasz, csavaros észjárású;
  • A szava járásából: Lopd teli (egy Deutsch nevű zsidó boltos); Tasi 
    (egy Franck nevű zsidó boltos ragadványneve): tas = kacsaterelő szó, a boltos ezzel zavarta el az alkalmatlankodó gyerekeket;
  • Eseménnyel kapcsolatos ragadványnevek: Földrengés (Reich
    Salamon): földrengéskor érkezett a községbe; Jókor gyött (egy Grünbaum nevű zsidó boltos): éppen akkor nyitotta meg boltját, amikor egyetlen üzlet sem volt a faluban; Locspocs (Schwarcz Jakab): esős időben érkezett a faluba; Zivatar (Klein Salamon): amikor a faluba érkezett, zivatar volt.
