Megtaláltam az első beszámolót a mezőkövesdi gettóról. H.H., a pék lánya 21 éves volt 1944-ben. Degob.hu.

1944. március 19.-e előtt is már a lakosság, de főleg a fiatalság nagyon rossz szemmel nézte a zsidóságot. 300 zsidó család lakott itt, főként iparosok. Az én édesapám pék volt. Őt már 1941-ben minden ok nélkül internálták 9 hónapra. Március 19.-e után az eddig is ellenszenves hangulat még sokkal rosszabb lett. Betörték a zsidó templom ablakait, megverték a férfiakat, ha kimentek az utcára. Május 10.-én kellett a gettóba költözni. Mi fiatalok kijártunk hadimunkára. Munkajegyet kaptunk, de sem élelmet, sem fizetést. A gettóba sem lehetett semmiféle élelmet bevinni. A gettót állandóan csendőrök őrizték, akik rendszeresen fosztogatták a lakókat. Mikor reggelenként munkára vittek ki bennünket, a keresztény fiatalság gúnyos megjegyzésekkel illetett és csúfolt minket. Ezt nem merném állítani ugyanakkor az idősebbekről. A régi világ emberei nem értették a propagandát, nem is törődtek vele és ha talán nem is szerették szívükben a zsidókat, amint így meggyalázva látták hajtani őket, mint a barmokat, eszükbe jutott, hogy ezek is csak emberek. Embervoltunk miatt sajnáltak egy kissé. A dohánybeváltóba jártunk be dolgozni. A feletteseink, az igazgatók rendesek, jók és emberségesek voltak, de a munkások rosszak és kerültek. 3 hétig voltunk itt. A hangulat általában bizakodónak mondható, az eltöltött 3 hét alapján azt gondoltuk, hogy valóban csak munkáról van szó. Ezzel szemben 3 hét után bevittek a kis gettóba, innen Új-Győrbe, ahol vagoníroztak.A vagonírozást csendőrök és németek karöltve végezték. Előbb mindenkin jól végigvertek, majd 78-at tömtek egy vagonba.

A mezőcsáti gettóból is a miskolci téglagyár területére, majd Auschwitzba mentek a vonatok. Mint a kövesdiből. A Degob.hu oldalon találtam ezt az R.R monogramhoz tartozó beszámolót (kösz Noémi).

Nyolc nap után bevagoníroztak és Miskolcra a téglagyári gettóba vittek be, de itt is mindössze három napot töltöttünk. A gazdagabbakat nagy verések közepette vallatták a csendőrök. Állandóan csak azt hallottuk, hogy kivisznek Magyarországról, de hogy hová, azt nem tudtuk. 06. hó 11-én bevagoníroztak, 80-t egy vagonba, sem vizet, sem pedig WC vödröt nem kaptunk. A vonatot tábori csendőrség kísérte, Kassán azután átvették a szerelvényt a németek. Az SS-ek az egész úton folyton motoztak, és ami értékesebb holmit még találtak, azt mind elvették. Nem tudok róla, hogy valaki próbálkozott volna szökéssel, haláleset nem fordult elő a mi kocsinkban.06. hó 14-én délután csomagjainkat megérkeztünk Auschwitzba, csíkos ruhás lengyel häftlingek fogadtak, ránk szóltak, hogy csomagunkat hagyjuk a vonatban leszállva, pedig ötös sorba külön-külön felállították a nőket és férfiakat, majd elindultunk a fürdőbe, ahol lenyírták hajunkat és minden holminkat elszedték, helyébe pedig rongyruhákat kaptunk, fehérnemű nélkül. A B/3 lágerbe kerültem, 1200-an egy blokkba.

Május közepe táján elvittek a diósgyőri téglagyárba, vonaton, ami belefért a hátizsákba, el lehetett vinni. Minden apró holmit elszedtek, ami csak értékesnek látszott. A téglagyári barakk, ahol el oltunk helyezve, oldalt nyitott volt, a földön feküdtünk. Bent kibírhatatlan volt a levegő, már nem is fértem el, inkább a mezőn aludtam. Közhonyha is volt itt. Itt sem dolgoztunk. Itt már SS-ek voltak, ezek is vertek, annyira vertek, hogy több ember ennek következtében meg is halt / nevekre sajnos nem tudok visszaemlékezni/. Még itt sem árulták el utunk célját, csak mi reméltük, hogy az ország belsejébe visznek el munkára. Beosztották az egyes transzportokat, mi a negyedik transzporttal mentünk. Vagononként 75-en mentünk, induláskor kaptunk vizet. Kassáig csendőrök kísértek, ott a németek vettek át. Itt már láttuk,. Hogy Lengyelország felé vezet az utunk. Június 8-án megérkezve a délutáni órákban Auschwitzba, leszállítottak, a csomagokat azonban mind fent kellett hagynunk a kocsikban. Leszállva hármas sorokban felálltunk, én édesanyámmal voltam együtt, azonban csakhamar egy német tiszt különválasztott, azóta sem tudok szegény édesanyámról. Bevittek a fertőtlenítőbe, levágták a hajamat, adtak egy rongyos ruház és azután beraktak egy barakkba.
